High School Volunteer Group
First Thursdays at 6 pm: May 2 and June 6
Do you need service hours for graduation, confirmation, or Scouting? The library has a volunteer group for teens grades 9 and beyond! Monthly meetings in the Teen Zone count for 1 hour of dedicated service time; extra hours may scheduled on a case-by-case basis depending on project availability.

Garden Clean-up Day
Saturday, April 27 at 10 am
Come help us clean up the garden as part of the library’s Green Space Project! Gloves, trowels, and other tools will be provided. Meets behind Prairie Jr. High at 11910 S Kostner Ave.

Planting Day
Saturday, May 18 at 10 am
Part of the library’s Green Space Project. Today we will be planting seeds and seedlings into the garden. Gloves and tools will be provided, as well as snacks! Meets behind Prairie Jr. High at 11910 S Kostner Ave.


Life Skills for Teens: Money Talks
Monday, April 22 at 6 pm
This spring, we’re focusing on finances! Michael Quinn from Republic Bank of Chicago will present on budgeting, saving, and banking options for high school students. The workshop will be offered twice. Please sign up for the date that works best for you! Registration required.

Take-N-Make Self-Care Kits
Pickups start Monday, May 13
It’s important to remember to take care of yourself during high-stress times such as finals week. Grab a kit from the Teen Zone and take a break with pre-measured ingredients and instructions to make your own face mask and sugar scrub, plus a few extra goodies. Limit 12.
